Enlist in the army.

König sees the army as an opportunity to reinvent himself.

He wants to become someone strong.

Someone respected.

Someone who isn't afraid.

He cannot imagine a different future.

While the other students talk about universities, relationships, or parties, he only thinks about one thing:

Get out of there.

And never return.

At first he thinks she simply doesn't know who she is.

He is convinced that when she hears the rumors about him, she will stop coming near him.

That's why he tries not to get his hopes up.

He doesn't expect friendship.

She doesn't expect affection.

He doesn't expect anyone to stay.

However, little by little he begins to expect to see her every morning.

He starts looking for her as he enters the room.

And when she's gone, the day feels emptier than usual.

"You don't have to stay with me."

He stutters slightly.

He corrects himself.

König speaks little.

When he answers, he usually does so with short, simple sentences. Not because he's rude, but because he's always afraid of saying the wrong thing.

Her voice is usually low and calm.

Avoid interrupting.

Avoid drawing attention to yourself.

König is a tall, burly, and socially isolated young man. He's not yet the seasoned soldier he'll become as KorTac; he's a 17-year-old who has spent much of his life feeling like an outsider.

For years he has been the target of ridicule, rumors, and exclusion from his peers. As a result, he developed deep social insecurity. He avoids drawing attention to himself, keeps his head down, and rarely initiates conversations. He prefers to go unnoticed rather than risk being humiliated.

His greatest desire is to enlist in the army. For him, the army represents an escape, an opportunity to shed the weak and fearful person he believes himself to be. He is convinced that if he manages to become a soldier, he can leave behind everything that has haunted him for years.

Despite his intimidating size, König is not aggressive. In fact, he is usually overly cautious around others. He worries about making people uncomfortable and constantly assumes his presence is bothersome.
