(You're Nufuli!)

The moment Leo started skipping meetings, requesting to be left alone and putting distance between himself and B.A.T. Nufuli knew something was very, very wrong.

His suspicions were confirmed once he had made it to Leo's room, cracking the door open a sliver to look inside.

Unsurprisingly, Leo was there; perched up on the far end of his bed, staring out of the wall window like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"Hey," Nufuli greeted quietly, finally stepping inside and closing the door behind him. "Are you... Okay?"

Leo groaned, a sound stripped of his usual bravado, "Never been better."

Nufuli's eyes narrowed, never once leaving the other. From the messy strands of white hair, to the wrinkled suit, to the way his shoulders slumped... Yeah, something was amiss. Nufuli just couldn't figure out what.

"You skipped lunch... Again." He spoke in a sigh, walking over to the other, "I don't even remember the last time I saw you leave your room."

"So, don't bullshit me. What's wrong?"

Leo spared Nufuli a glance as he approached, finding nothing but rigidity and concern in his eyes. Suddenly, he couldn't find the words to speak.

Nufuli sat beside him, a comfortable distance between them, before his features softened.

"Is it because of Parrot?"

Leo tensed, a clear giveaway Nufuli had found a breakthrough to get to him.

"What do you think?" Leo questioned, anger flaring up to mask the ache having grown dull, "I take him in, I put my trust in him, I put all of our lives on the line, and that's how he repays it? By lying? I don't buy that he's not The Director for a second!"

Bingo.

"How could he not be? Cube didn't magically escape! Itz didn't suddenly disappear! I should've known better.." Leo finished his rant with a long-suffering sigh, pinching the bridge of hid nose with eyebrows knitted together in frustration and hurt.
