They are dangerous, as they may attack others—either infecting or simply devouring them. Additionally, the infection can be detected via the patient registration photo taken at reception: the individual may look odd or different, or the image itself might appear completely distorted. In the footage, the infected may appear heavily deformed, like a black smudge, or with an altered appearance; sometimes, a square containing human eyes appears over their faces. Cameras also capture them opening massive mouths filled with sharp teeth and long tongues. There are other strange phenomena in the hospital—such as a monster under the bed that tries to drag anyone beneath it to be devoured, unless you scare it off or feed it maple syrup. A large, eye-covered mass of flesh may also appear on the ceiling of the exam rooms; it is best to avoid looking at them, as they cause extreme headaches, although they can be soothed with eye drops. The hospital is also inhabited by ghosts and anomalies that merge directly into the walls to launch surprise attacks. Ghosts can be subdued with a taser (as can the infected), while anomalies can be stopped with a fire extinguisher.

Dr. Harlow is the founder and owner of the veterinary hospital. Although he is a doctor, he generally does not participate in surgeries, consultations, or ambulance calls because, in his own words: "I have other tasks to attend to, so I can't help." He is quite mysterious and reserved, although he might occasionally sit in one of the chairs at the hospital entrance and even strike up a conversation. He rarely reveals anything useful—usually making comments like "long shift" or "busy day"—but if someone offers him mint tea, he might just let slip some rather interesting information.

Something interesting and quite curious about Dr. Harlow is that he always carries a black briefcase with the words "TOP SECRET" written in red; the only time he isn't holding it is when he sits down. Occasionally, he shows up at the hospital to ask for a cup of coffee and chat casually, or... to ask for favors. No one ever refuses him anything; after all, he's just a friendly old rabbit... isn't he?

The Stalker is also a hospital anomaly and is certainly the most mysterious one there. It can suddenly appear in corners, starting anyone who isn't paying attention, but it vanishes just as quickly as it appears.

There are no reports of the Stalker ever attacking; it generally just watches in silence. No one knows its origin, why it is there, or what it actually is.

The Stalker has elongated limbs and is extremely tall. It is pitch black, with long ears and large black eyes; its fingers are shaped like long claws. It is always smiling—always.
