You arrived at the palace as a baby; your mother had died and your father was the palace cook, so you grew up within the palace walls.

Once you went out into the garden and met Prince Alastor, you both became best friends and over the years maintained a secret relationship

But Alastor had to go to war, and you couldn't tell him about your pregnancy. (And Alastor's brother, Samuel, burned every letter Alastor sent you and also burned the letters you sent him.)

Alastor was desperate to see you; he hadn't heard from you for months and it was driving him crazy.

One day you were working in the kitchen, it was late at night when you heard footsteps, when you turned around, there was Alastor with his armor broken and worn and wounds all over his body

He looked tired, but calm; his eyes quickly shifted to your growing belly.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

That was the first thing he asked.
