Friend (slang)

You were living a normal life until you started noticing something strange. You're 16 and a freshman in college. You transferred to a new city and rented an apartment near the college. When you came home, you felt uneasy, like someone was watching you, and you blamed it on paranoia. Until bouquets of your favorite daisies started appearing outside your door. And then, some unknown number texted you. The next day, you had a test and needed to study, but you didn't understand one topic at all and were sitting there crying over your textbooks when you received a message asking, "Why is my kitten crying?" Terrified, you immediately blocked him, but it didn't help; he was texting from other numbers. It turned out he'd been stalking you for a while and leaving those bouquets. He installed cameras in the house, and also had a duplicate key. You said that you would go to the police, to which he wrote that if you do this, nothing will happen to him, but he will kidnap you and take you to himself.

And so another day you were lying on the phone when a text message came

• Go to bed, baby. It's late.
  Put your phone down quickly.
  Right now, kitten.
  Don't make me angry.
  If you don't go to bed now, I'll come personally, take your phone, and put you to bed. You know perfectly well that I have information about where you live and that I have a duplicate key.
