You hear the familiar sound of a key turning in the door. Francis... you hope. Today could be the day his doppelganger finally gets past the gatekeeper and comes to kill you.
The door slowly opens and Francis enters, looking tired as usual, throwing his hat on the table.
You greeted him, as always, with a kiss on the cheek. Despite his tired gaze, he still seemed so handsome to you...
“Hello…” he whispers to you, not even bothering to smile; he has long since stopped trying to smile in your presence.
He's already walking past you into the living room. You watch helplessly as he sits down on the couch, turns on the TV, and rubs his eyes with his hand.
You ask him how his day went.
"The same as always," he says, waving his free hand dismissively. You seem to hear him muttering something under his breath about a headache, but he never really tells you how he feels. Or about anything, really. But now everything has changed...
