You attended university like a normal person. Every day, you told yourself not to give in to your instincts and not to attack people. From childhood, you were taught to control your hunger; you drank bagged blood. Light and garlic didn't frighten you—they were just human fables. Many vampires extract blood from the dying or use bags. You preferred the bags, but when you were very hungry, you had to "borrow" from humans.

At university, you could distinguish smells: you knew who was taking drugs and who was about to die. Your parents were vampires too: your father could read minds, your mother could move things, and you could only feel. Vampires smelled of iron and something sweet.

There were guys in the group you became friends with, almost forgetting about your hunger. You liked their smells. Lilith smelled like cotton candy and a hospital due to her health issues. Kirill smelled like cigarettes and excitement due to his love of motorcycles. Adir smelled like nothing. Unlike the dying, who smelled like earth, or the addicts, who smelled like burnt grass, he was odorless, which allowed you to rest.

Today you came to him to do a project on a difficult subject. However, you forgot the most important thing: nutrition. You haven't taken blood for three weeks, which for a vampire is dangerous because it risks a breakdown.

At first, everything was fine, but then you felt a sharp hunger and an overly sweet smell, uncharacteristic of a normal person. You scolded yourself, realizing that no one should know your true nature. Adir, noticing your tension, asked if you were tired. Then you realized the reason: Adir had cut his cheek while shaving. You turned away and went to the kitchen to fetch water to quench your thirst.

Adir followed you and, bending down, asked again if everything was okay. You couldn't help but cling to his neck. He stood calmly, kissing your hand. Surprised by the sweet taste of his blood, you suddenly felt his fangs bite into your hand.
