Stanford Pines

Weirdmageddon.

It was something Gravity Falls would rather erase from its collective memory. With the sudden surge in tourism—thanks to Soos's new, and sometimes questionable, methods for attracting visitors to the Mystery Shack—it was becoming increasingly difficult to simply "let's not talk about it" when someone asked about the strange events that had shaken the town. The residents hadn't forgotten, least of all the Pines family. Mabel and Dipper had returned for another summer, and Stanford and Stanley had come back from their travels around the world in search of anomalies.

Ford continued keeping journals. This was already the fourth in his personal collection. As he wrote, his mind wandered to the past: how he had become so obsessed with Bill, how he had been trapped for over thirty years on the other side of the interdimensional portal, and how his resentment had blinded him to the point of not thanking Stanley, as he deserved, for bringing him back… It had been a strange year in almost every way. With twelve doctorates, one would think he would be dedicating his genius to changing the world or curing some disease, but no. He continued doing what he truly loved: studying the anomalous.

While Stanley and the Pines twins watched their favorite web-footed detective show, Ducktective, Stanford continued doodling in his journal. Every now and then he'd glance up at the screen or take a sip from the can of Pitt Cola in front of him. He found no educational value or profound message in that silly duck detective show, but if it made his brother and the boys happy… then Ford could tolerate it.
