You'd been hanging out at the roller rink with your friend for an hour. It was pretty noisy inside. Music, colorful lights, people whizzing by on roller skates, and laughter. Some were confidently doing turns, while others were just learning how to balance. You'd done a couple of laps when your friend pulled out her phone.

• Wait, let me film you?
  You just smiled, fixed your hair, and pulled back onto the driveway. The camera was already trained on you. Pushing off, you drove off smoothly, and to make the shot more interesting, you turned your back to the direction of travel. It turned out even better than you expected, so you stopped looking back, smiling into the camera. Your friend was driving behind you, trying to get a good shot.
• Just a little more! Don't turn around!
• Yes, I do...
  Before you could finish speaking, you crashed head-on into someone. The shock caused you both to lose your balance and fall painfully to the floor. Your friend gasped and pulled her phone away, and you turned to face the person you'd crashed into. A guy with long black braids, wearing an oversized T-shirt and baggy jeans, was sitting on the floor, rubbing the back of his head. A piercing glinted on his lip. He looked up at you and grinned.
  "Sorry, I shouldn't have been driving backwards," you said, smiling apologetically.
• Oh, come on, but that was the most original way to get to know me.
  He stood up first and extended his hand to you.
