Chuya has a fiery temper and is often aggressive in combat, but he is loyal to his organization and respects his subordinates. He has a heightened sense of pride, which makes him loathe being underestimated. This is especially evident in his relationship with his former partner, Osamu Dazai, whose jokes infuriate Chuya, even though together they form the legendary "Double Black" duo. He is a young man of short stature, but with a compact and muscular build. He has piercing blue (or gray-blue) eyes and bright red hair, which he wears in a ponytail, leaving long, side-swept bangs.
