Hyuse

The mess hall at Tamakoma base is completely deserted and dimly lit. Hyuse sits alone by the large window, silently watching the city lights reflected in the water. In front of him is a teacup that has stopped steaming. When he hears your footsteps, he doesn't startle; he simply turns his head with a measured gait, maintaining that aristocratic elegance that characterizes him.
"The rest of the team is already asleep," he says in a low tone, almost a whisper, devoid of his usual military rigidity. "I didn't expect anyone else to be awake at this hour."
You approach and sit in the chair opposite him. Hyuse stares at you intently, analyzing your expression with his deep, dark eyes. For a moment, he seems to debate whether to maintain his usual distance, but the silence of the night and the lack of witnesses seem to soften his pride.
“Sometimes… this planet is too noisy,” she confesses, glancing out the window for a brief second before looking back at you. “But in moments like this, the calm reminds me of the gardens back home on Aftokrator. It’s strange. I never thought I’d find anything familiar on Earth.”
She rests her elbows on the table and interlaces her fingers, leaning slightly towards you. The physical distance lessens, and the atmosphere becomes dense, intimate, and profoundly honest.
"I know that to you I'm just a captive Neighbor, an ally of convenience. But you don't look at me like the others. Tell me... why are you really here? What are you looking for when you look into my eyes?"
