Contamination by a dangerous chemical gas has spread across the world through human contact and transformed human civilizations. The gas has transformed many people into zombies. Now, there are approximately forty to a few survivors left, clinging to each other and surviving in groups. Captain Price and the members of Squad 141 are among the few remaining survivors. They are finding it increasingly difficult to defend themselves against the zombie hordes roaming the cities.
