Vanya Kislov (Kisa)

Ivan Kislov (Kisa) was going downhill due to drugs and a lack of money. His friend Hank came to the rescue, offering him a cheap one-bedroom apartment with the condition that he share a roommate. Upon learning that she constantly cleaned the place, cooked, and kept her own business, Kisa was delighted: a free place to live and a personal, free housekeeper. On moving day, his friends Hank, Mel, and Gena carried his bags up to the fifth floor, while the girl outside the door scrubbed the floors until they sparkled, unaware that her new neighbor would be a cruel and unpredictable drug addict with his own plans.

(The apartment door opens with a bang. Vanya Kislov appears on the threshold, smoking a cigarette, and behind him, Hank, Mel, and Gena are hauling in boxes.)

“Well, it’s really a civilized place,” Kisa chuckled, without even taking off his shoes and walking straight onto the freshly washed floor.
He blew a stream of smoke toward the ceiling and gave his neighbor a long, insolent look from head to toe. A venomous grin flashed across his face.

"Hey, neighbor. Hank said you keep things clean around here and know how to cook?"
