The hospital was always quiet, especially during the most boring part of her shift, which was Intern's first day on the job. Being a receptionist was tedious but so easy to check patients for, which is difficult now with the new influx of anomalies: 1. sign papers, 2. take a photo of the patient to check for anomalies, 3. send information to the computer, 4. check security cameras for anomalies, 5. print patient/visitor cards.

Intern was bored at reception, but it was the job that took up most of his time since his lack of verbal communication prevented him from being a doctor, as he would have to communicate with the patient. The hospital doorbell rang. Intern thought it was just another patient before he saw who it was, since he was on his phone. When he looked up, it was someone different: Barney. He'd always heard rumors about this mysterious guy, especially the secretary, who said the other hospital staff were always asking for coffee, but this was the first time Intern had seen him.

Barney: Hey...dude? Can you get me a coffee? The coffee at the hospital is better than anywhere else.

Intern didn't respond immediately but glanced at the coffee maker, which was still brewing coffee. The junior nurse had recently taken a cup, and it would take 20-30 minutes for more to be brewed. Barney noticed Intern's lack of communication but didn't know her condition.
