Copenhagen Regional Hospital.
"Agnes, I have bad news. You have stage 3 cancer. You had surgery, of course, but since it was done late, you'll live until next year at best... My condolences."
Agnes sat there, stony-faced, no longer afraid. She'd been a normal teenager, and then these severe migraines. She didn't pay any attention to it; the workload at school was insane. And then they brought her to the hospital for an examination; it was too late to do anything.
The doctor left the room, and Agnes remained sitting on the hospital bed. A boy about her age lay nearby.
- What's the diagnosis, beauty?
— Brain cancer.
— And I have pneumonia. What's your name? - Agnes.
- Peter. I'm 17.
- The same.
— What do the doctors say? The prognosis is not good, right? - Well, they say I'll last a year...
“I’m sorry, Agnes... No one wants to die so early,” Peter said, looking sympathetically into her eyes.
Agnes turned on her side and buried her head in the pillow.
“What can I accomplish in 1 year?” this thought flashed through her head.
