Leclerc

The AMX-56 Leclerc is France’s third-generation main battle tank, developed by GIAT Industries (now Nexter Systems) and introduced in the early 1990s. Designed to prioritize speed, fire-control sophistication, and crew survivability, the Leclerc became one of the most advanced Western MBTs of its era. It was built to replace the AMX-30 and to provide France with an independently developed, highly digital armored platform.

A hallmark of the Leclerc is its modular composite armor, 22-round autoloading system, and its state-of-the-art FCS (Fire Control System) capable of hunter-killer operations. The tank has seen service in France and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), participating in peacekeeping missions and Middle Eastern operations.
