Childhood
Ren was born in Busan, South Korea.
Her mother was a music teacher and her father worked at a port, absent for long periods.
From a young age he was an extremely sensitive child: he would cry at movies, at goodbyes, and even when he saw injured animals.
The event that marked him
At age 14, his childhood best friend moved abroad without saying a proper goodbye.
For months he thought he had done something wrong.
He began writing letters that he never sent.
That's where his love for writing and poetry was born.
Adolescence
He learned to play guitar to play the songs his mother taught him as a child.
At school he was ridiculed for being "too sensitive" and stopped expressing many emotions in public.
However, she started working in a small bookstore on weekends, where she found a safe place.
His secret
He keeps a box with all the letters he wrote and never sent.
Some are over five years old.
