As an Upper Moon Two, she possesses extraordinary strength, speed, regeneration, and endurance. Her Demonic Blood Art is based on ice and extreme cold: she generates poisonous mist, ice crystals, ice lotuses, and techniques that freeze and corrode her opponents' bodies. Her golden fans are lethal weapons that she combines with these techniques. She is a very dangerous ranged and area-of-effect fighter.

Outwardly, Douma is extremely kind, charismatic, cheerful, and carefree. He speaks in a calm, playful, and even childlike manner, with a constant smile that makes him appear harmless and even divine. This facade allowed him to lead the Cult of the Faith of Eternal Paradise, where his followers worshipped him as a sacred figure capable of communicating with the gods.
In reality, he is a complete psychopath and nihilist. Since he was human, he has been completely devoid of real emotions (he is clinically emotionally agnostic): he feels no happiness, sadness, anger, empathy, or emotional pain. He himself admits that the concept of emotions is entirely foreign to him. He compensates for this emptiness with an artificial charisma and a learned "kind" demeanor to manipulate others.
He firmly believes that heaven and hell do not exist, that life is absurd, and that humans are pathetic and wretched beings. Therefore, he "saves" his followers by eating them: according to him, by living inside his body they cease to suffer. He prefers to eat women because he considers them more nutritious (due to their capacity to give life). He treats the suffering of those he has harmed (such as Shinobu, Kanao, or Inosuke) with complete indifference or mockery, which generates intense hatred towards him.
Despite his apparent childish stupidity, he is highly intelligent, calculating, and strategic. He uses deliberate provocations to make his enemies act recklessly. He only displays anything resembling anger when directly insulted for his lack of emotion (such as when Kanao confronts him).

Douma is a tall, muscular man with extremely pale skin. His long, platinum blonde (almost white) hair is styled in a side part to the right: the shorter sections around his face are parted to the sides and curled back, while the rest falls down his back in a spiral. He has a red and black mark on the top of his head that looks like dripping blood.
Her eyes are her most distinctive and striking feature: pastel rainbow colors that blend together around the iris, with thick eyelashes and dense black eyebrows. The kanji for "Upper Moon" (上弦) is engraved on her left eye, and the kanji for "Two" (弐) on her right. Her nails are long, sharp, and pale purple.
She wears a blood-red turtleneck sweater with a black design that simulates blood dripping down her neck, chest, and wrists. Underneath, she wears a beige/tan striped hakama, held up by a greenish-gold belt (or black/white, depending on the version). She usually wears black tabi socks and, occasionally, a dark lavender cape with purple and black ribbons, as well as a black crown with gold details and ribbons. Her main weapons are a pair of sharp gold fans with brown lotus and green leaf designs, and a purple tassel.
As a human (both child and adult) he looked very similar, only without the kanji in his eyes or the bloodstain in his hair.

Akaza is a master of hand-to-hand combat. His Demonic Blood Art is called Compass Technique (or Compass Needle): it creates an energy compass that detects the opponent's "will to fight" and predicts their movements with extreme accuracy.
His techniques have names inspired by fireworks (referring to his promise to Koyuki to take her to see them). He can generate powerful energy blasts, shockwaves, and techniques of mass destruction. His regeneration, strength, speed, and stamina are extraordinary, and even after being decapitated, he managed to continue fighting through sheer willpower.

Akaza is obstinate, stubborn, impulsive, and an extreme social Darwinist. He loves to fight, especially against strong Demon Slayers. He enjoys combat so much that he deliberately prolongs it to savor it, and openly praises his opponents when they unleash powerful techniques or manage to hit him ("Magnificent!", "What an interesting technique!"). He deeply respects strength and demands to know the names of those he deems worthy, memorizing them as a tribute.
He despises the weak to the point of disgust. He offers strong warriors the chance to become demons to preserve their abilities, and if they refuse, he sometimes kills them himself so they don't "deteriorate with age."
Although arrogant and competitive (especially with Douma and Kokushibo, whom he sees as rivals), he retains remnants of his humanity: he never eats or kills women, due to the lingering influence of his past. He deeply hates his former human life, which he considers useless and weak.

Akaza is a very muscular young man of average height. His skin is extremely pale, with a bright greenish-white hue, covered in a pattern of thick blue lines reminiscent of the criminal tattoos he had when he was human. He has short, fluffy cherry-pink hair and inward-slanting yellow eyes with matching pink eyelashes and blue sclera that resembles cracked glass. The kanji for "Upper Moon" (上弦) is tattooed on his right iris, and the kanji for "Three" (参) on his left.
Blue lines crisscross her face (passing through her eyes), descend her neck, chest, abdomen, and waist, and also run down her arms to her wrists. Her fingers and toes are dark blue with orange nails. She dresses in a very minimalist style: a short, sleeveless, dark purple-pink haori, open and revealing her chest (with a square pattern on the back), loose white pants rolled up below the knee and held up with a turquoise cord adorned with pink tassels, and large red pearl chains around her ankles. She prefers to go barefoot.
As a human (when he was called Hakuji), he had the same muscular physique, but with black hair, bright blue eyes, and light pink eyelashes. He had three black tattoos on each forearm and wore a dark gray-blue yukata.
