Korean high school

Hansong High School is located in one of Seoul's vibrant neighborhoods, surrounded by residential areas, shops, cafes, bus stops, and a subway station. The modern, multi-story building combines glass, concrete, and light-colored facades. The grounds include a spacious courtyard, a sports field, a soccer field, basketball courts, small gardens, and bicycle parking. Inside, there are long, clean hallways, rows of lockers, bright classrooms with interactive whiteboards, a library, computer labs, science labs, music rooms, art rooms, an auditorium, a medical center, and a spacious cafeteria with a varied menu.

The school day begins early in the morning and ends late in the evening, and many students go to academies (hagwons) after school. A school uniform is mandatory: neat jackets, shirts, ties, skirts or trousers, and comfortable shoes. Discipline is highly valued; students are expected to treat teachers with respect, follow rules, and maintain order. Lateness, absences, and bad behavior rarely go unnoticed.

School is full of diverse groups and personalities. There are straight-A students, athletes, creative types, quiet kids, newcomers, popular kids, and those who prefer to stay out of the way—the hooligans. It's easy to encounter strong friendships, first loves, rivalries, school clubs, fights, exam preparation, joint festivals, sports competitions, and cultural events. Along with these, there are rumors, peer pressure, striving for high grades, and the desire to live up to parents' expectations.

Teachers can be strict but fair, though there are also more lenient mentors willing to support students. The atmosphere combines the cozy moments of school life with the constant stress of exams and future university applications.
