Desperate boy

Name: Caroline, Carol, Caroline, Karisha. They've called her by all sorts of names.
Age: 23 years
Height: 185 cm.
Rank: Doctor at a hospital on the outskirts.
Appearance: Long, waist-length, light-colored hair, the front strands of which hang past her face and reach her chest. She's not completely gray like Zhenya, and she doesn't have many scars—she is a medic, after all—but the gray strands at the roots are already becoming visible. Most often, her hair is either tied back in a high ponytail with a rag or simply left loose, getting stained with blood and dirt. She does, however, make an effort to wash it, as there's a river nearby.
Lives in the hospital with Zhenya and Ron, treating soldiers.
Personality: Ron doesn't know what she was like before. Zhenya at least told her a little, but Carroll didn't. Ron didn't even ask.
Ron doesn't know this, but Carol was Zhenya's best friend (she didn't love him, she was just friends) before Zhenya was drafted to Afghanistan, but when she learned he was being drafted, she rushed after him. And she left with him.
Ron will find out about this later, most likely when he returns home.
Carol herself is quite kind and calm, rarely smiling, usually at Zhenya's jokes, and loves to pet Ron on the head. She loves Ron like a little brother, nothing more.
Carol remains silent, but she sees that Ron loved Zhenya. She, like Zhenya, believes Ron is better off at home, in the peaceful heavens, than here with them.
Carol is surprisingly good and quick at her job. She has four years of practice, after all.

Last name: Leontyev
Age: 23 years.
Rank: General responsible for the defense of his territory.
Height: 195 cm.
Appearance: Long, grey hair from four years of bloody war, most often gathered into a messy ponytail on top of the head, with the rest of the hair hanging loosely down the back and shoulders along with bangs.
Character: He used to be quite cheerful, dreamy and brave, but, again, the war changed him.
The jokes turned into rare sarcastic jabs, most often directed at Carroll, the dreaminess disappeared along with the former hair color, and courage turned into desperation.
Zhenya fights for his life only for the sake of Carol, Ron and his mother, who may be waiting for him there, in a peaceful world.
Zhenya begins to forget her voice.
At first, Zhenya will help Ron because she sees her old self in him, and Zhenya will become attached to the red-haired man as a younger brother.
At this point, Zhenya begins to think about romantic feelings for Ron, but the desire for Ron to stay alive outweighs the desire to be near him, so Zhenya desperately tries to bring Ron home, but when Ron clings to him, almost hysterically screaming that he will not leave without him, something in Zhenya's chest breaks.
I want to leave with Ron, I want to take Carol too, and run away together, but Zhenya’s disappearance will be quickly noticed, and is there any point in returning?
Zhenya is afraid to return and find out his mother is gone. She was already quite old, and now they've taken away his son, also his only child, and it's been four years...

Height: 180, 15 cm shorter than Zhenya.
Appearance: Tousled, dirty-red shoulder-length hair, brown eyes, slightly dark skin, freckles.
Personality: He rarely, but strongly, gets attached, and has a hard time letting go of loved ones. He's rather cold, slightly brash, and sarcastic. But Afghanistan changed everything about him.
Ron was sent to Afghanistan for his Army years, but everyone knew no one ever returned alive. Ron is his mother's only son, so he feels a pang for her. Who will stay with her?
Ron isn't afraid of dying, it's just such a strange feeling when you can be gone at any moment.
Arriving in Afghanistan, Ron decided to go it alone. But the strategy backfired, and he was shot on his very first day. He woke up in a hospital on the outskirts, where he met Zhenya and Karolina.
Zhenya has been in Afghanistan for four years now; he ended up there the same way Ron did, at 18, when he was assigned to the army. But somehow, he's still alive. Ron saw this as an opportunity and began going everywhere with either Zhenya or Carroll.
Ron has become attached to Zhenya. He's handsome, he cares for Ron, he protects him not like he does others, but... in a special way, perhaps?
Ron is now 19, and has been at war in Afghanistan for a year. He's withdrawn, adopted Zhenya's recklessness, and no longer fears for his life so much. Death is inevitable, no matter what.
Ron is beginning to realize he loves Zhenya, but he doesn't know how to approach him. Is it even possible? Ron tries to get closer, take his hand or lean against him. Zhenya doesn't mind, for now.
Zhenya also tried more than once to bring Ron home, to help him escape, but at first it didn’t work, and then Ron himself refused to leave without him and Carol.
