Nanoha Adult (Mahou shojo lyrical Nanoha)

Nanoha Takamachi (高町なのは Takamachi Nanoha) is the central character of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series and its sequels, who originally appeared in Triangle Heart 3.

Nanoha, the youngest daughter of the Takamachi family, grew up in the city of Uminari, Japan, unaware that she was one of the few Earthlings with magical abilities. At the age of nine, she became involved in the Jewel Seed Incident and met the mages Yuuno Scrya, who became her first mentor, and Fate Testarossa, a rival who later became her lifelong companion. After receiving an AI-enabled staff called Raising Heart from Yuuno, Nanoha demonstrated extraordinary skill in mastering the Midchildan combat magic system, becoming a celebrated heroine throughout the multiverse (with films about her exploits produced within the universe). In the following decade, she left Earth to become a combat magic instructor at the Administrative Bureau.

She is a thoughtful and somewhat naive girl. She possesses a deep and kind personality, but in the sequels she becomes much more mature and refined. Nanoha is also quite energetic and idealistic, and displays a great zest for life.

A fundamental aspect of Nanoha's personality is her constant desire to help and understand others. Because of this, she always adopts a diplomatic approach to problems and tries to reason with her adversaries first. In the comic Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection THE COMICS, Hayate Yagami even describes this need to help others as "madness." However, she is also shown to be pragmatic and willing to use force if communication alone is insufficient.

As Signum states in Vivid, Nanoha, now an adult, hasn't changed much since childhood. However, she has become stricter and more responsible, likely due to her work as an aerobatics instructor. Furthermore, it seems that the incident in which overexertion left her nearly disabled had a profound impact on her, leading her to be more careful and to severely reprimand her students for their recklessness.

At first, Nanoha was reluctant to take Vivio in, believing she wouldn't be able to care for her properly. However, as she bonded with the child, she eventually changed her mind and adopted her after the JS Incident. From then on, as Vita states in Vivid, Nanoha's life began to revolve around her new daughter.

The film "The Comics" adds more nuance to her character. Before becoming a magical girl, she was portrayed as somewhat depressed, seemingly without a purpose in life. As a child, she often felt powerless and wished she had the strength to change things.

At the beginning of the series, Nanoha Takamachi is presented as an ordinary girl, living with her family, taking the bus to school, and behaving like the average kind-hearted girl in front of her billionaire best friends, Alisa Bannings and Suzuka Tsukimura. However, she always felt like the odd one out; her parents had each other, as did her siblings and her best friends, while Nanoha didn't have such close companions. Furthermore, she says she feels her life is directionless, as she has no plans for her future. When she finds Yūno injured in ferret form in the park, she takes him to a nearby veterinarian for treatment. Later, Yūno telepathically calls out to Nanoha when an unstable Jewel Seed attacks him, and then gives her the red gem he wears around his neck, known as the Elevated Heart. Following his instructions, Nanoha activates the Elevated Heart and discovers her own magical ability. Her powers leave Yuuno astonished, as she is able to create attacks rapidly and detect Jewel Seeds more easily than he can. Despite all her powers, she is still learning and must face her rival (and later her dear friend and partner), Fate Testarossa, though Nanoha is more interested in befriending her. As expected, she manages to befriend Fate, but her method has led to a clever pun.

Nanoha lives in her home in Uminari City with her family. She easily balances her studies at the academy, regular school, and the search for Jewel Seeds, though Yuuno fears it will eventually become too much for her. While she tries to hide her identity from her friends and family, unlike many magical girl series, she openly reveals it to Fate.

Later in the series, the focus shifts from the Jewel Seed collection to the eventual alliance between Nanoha and Fate, which occurs in the penultimate episode when Fate assimilates her identity and that of her mother. Nanoha and Fate are forced to part ways when Fate is arrested for her work for Presea Testarossa, but they part as friends and promise to reunite, as Fate is likely to be acquitted of all charges.

In A's, Nanoha may be living in peaceful times, but she hasn't neglected her duties. She sets out early each morning and trains with Raising Heart. One night, she is attacked by one of the Wolkenritter, Vita, and is defeated due to the difference in their weapons. However, she joins forces with Fate, who saves her and manages to hold off Vita until Signum intervenes while Yuuno carries Nanoha to safety. Alph, Yuuno, and Arthra's team help Nanoha and Fate escape Vita's force field, which they manage to do, but not before Shamal steals Nanoha's Link Core, causing her to lose most of her mana. It is later revealed that her new mission is to prevent the Wolkenritter from stealing mages' Link Cores for their Book of Darkness.

Meanwhile, Nanoha introduces Fate to her two friends Arisa and Suzuka as an exchange student (though they had initially met through video messages between Nanoha and Fate), and resumes her life as a magical girl and student, helping Fate adjust to her new life on Earth. After being introduced by Suzuka, Nanoha and Fate meet a sickly girl named Hayate Yagami. While visiting Hayate in the hospital on Christmas Eve, they encounter the Wolkenritter and discover that Hayate is the owner of the Book of Darkness, as well as the reason the Wolkenritter are collecting pages for it. They soon find themselves confronted by the Wolkenritter, who want to silence them for knowing the identity of their owner. However, the fight is interrupted by two masked men (later revealed to be the Liese twins), who trap them in restraints and a Crystal Cage, impersonating them to trick Hayate into believing that Nanoha and Fate killed the Wolkenritter after using their Link Cores to complete the final pages of the Book of Darkness. Nanoha and Fate are then forced to fight the Will of the Book of Darkness, which has entered into a reverse bond with Hayate. During the fight, Suzuka and Alisa discover their true identities when they try to protect them from attacks. Ultimately, they manage to save Hayate and the Will of the Book of Darkness, which becomes Reinforce, Hayate's partner and weapon.

After several months of obtaining qualifications, passing exams, and undergoing training, Nanoha officially joins the Administrative Bureau in May 0066 as an official cadet of the Armed Forces (士官候補生 shikan kōhosei),[5] with the stated intention of entering the Tactical Instructor divisions.[6] In the latter half of the same year, she is promoted to a full-fledged officer of the Armed Forces.[5] However, during an armed forces exercise alongside Vita and other mages in the second winter after joining the Bureau (late 0067), Nanoha is severely injured by a then-unidentified Type IV Gadget Drone, primarily due to mana depletion from previous battles.[7] As a result, Nanoha requires hospitalization for two months. [8] She returns to her job in the summer of 0068, and also attains the rank of S-rank mage when autumn arrives. [5] Finally, Nanoha joins the Air Tactical Instructor Corps in the spring of 0069, [5] at the age of 13. [9]

The first part of the StrikerS manga (chapters 1-3) takes place in April 2007, six years after the events of A and four years before the StrikerS anime. In it, Nanoha is a third-year high school student. She has achieved her dream position in the Tactical Air Instructor Corps and is part of a tactical combat training group. As she explains to Reinforce Zwei, the group's duties include testing new equipment and spells, researching tactics and strategies, and training TSAB combat personnel through combat simulations. Chrono Harlaown, in a separate conversation, refers to her as one of the Bureau's top instructors.

Nanoha, at 19 years old, has matured considerably during the four years since 0071. Like Fate, she now holds the rank of S+ mage, though she is normally limited to AA, 2.5 ranks below what she should have, due to the structural restrictions of Riot Force 6, Hayate's auxiliary force to which she is attached. She is the commander of Forward Stars, as well as the primary tactical instructor for all of Riot Force 6. [10] As a result of her previous injury, she intentionally designed Riot Force 6's training regimen to ensure that the same thing does not happen to the members of Forward. [11]

Nanoha first appears in the season alongside Raising Heart Exelion, surveying the terrain for Subaru Nakajima and Teana Lanster's exam. When the pair arrive at their destination, Nanoha intervenes to prevent them from crashing. After assembling the members of the newly formed Riot Force 6, Nanoha begins training the new recruits: Subaru, Teana, Caro Ru Lushe, and Erio Mondial (both taken in by Fate).

A serious incident occurs during training in the first half of the season. Teana, overcoming her inferiority complex and driven by the need to prove herself, devises a reckless strategy that fails to utilize her strengths in a simulated battle against Nanoha. This triggers Nanoha's trauma, nearly crippling her from overexertion. Blocking Teana's attack, she injures herself in the process and questions whether Teana has trained her incorrectly. However, Nanoha's accidental injury causes Teana to lose her temper, leading Nanoha to knock her unconscious by mimicking her Crossfire spell. Ultimately, after learning of Nanoha's accident, the two reconcile after Nanoha helps Teana overcome her inferiority complex by assuring her that she was chosen for Riot 6 because of her skills.

Later in the season, Nanoha becomes Vivio's guardian, or as Vivio calls her, Mom, and takes care of Vivio along with Fate, who is his godmother (although Nanoha officially adopts Vivio later).

Near the end of the season, Riot Force 6 confronts the Saint's Cradle as it enters orbit. Nanoha enters the cradle along with Vita, and they split up: Nanoha goes to the "Throne Room" and Vita to the engine room. Nanoha quickly takes down Dieci, one of the Numbers specializing in bombardment, using her Blaster System, before entering the Throne Room, where Vivio is being held. Quattro manipulates Vivio, forcing Nanoha and Vivio to fight each other. During the fight, Nanoha uses Wide Area Search to locate Quattro's hiding place and knocks her unconscious by blasting a hole in the Cradle with the Divine Destroyer at Blaster System level 3. However, Vivio has not yet regained her normal state and continues fighting Nanoha until she manages to regain control, though not completely. Nanoha is forced to use her Blaster System at full power, firing five Starlight Breaker beams simultaneously, which restores Vivio to her normal state. Later, Subaru and Teana arrive to save Nanoha, Vivio and Hayate (who comes to rescue Nanoha).

In the epilogue of StrikerS, Nanoha is offered several promotions, but she declines them all to keep her current position as a tactics instructor. She now also lives with Vivio and visits her frequently, even when she's at school.

In ViVid, which takes place four years after StrikerS, Nanoha, now 23, lives in Midchilda and raises Vivio. Shortly after Vivio enters fourth grade, she gives him a new Hybrid-Intelligent Device, which Vivio names the Sacred Heart.

In ViVid (chapter 8), she and Fate organize a trip to Carnaaji for Vivio and his friends. She also takes this opportunity to meet Einhard Stratos, whom she thanks for looking after Vivio, much to Einhard's embarrassment. In ViVid (chapter 10), she, Subaru, Teana, Fate, Caro, and Erio participate in a spectacular mock battle. In the team battle on the second day of training, Nanoha takes the position of Central Guard for Team Blue, facing off against Teana.

In ViVid (chapters 92-99), Nanoha and Fate visit the battlefield for their upcoming training match with Vivio. Nanoha warms up with Fate and then with Harry Tribeca, Els Tasmin, Sieglinde Eremiah, and Viktoria Dahlgrun. After a break, her battle against Vivio begins. The fight intensifies when Nanoha unleashes Starlight Breaker, which Vivio blocks with a defensive combo (comprising multiple barriers, Sacred Defender, and Jacket Purge). Vivio closes in on Nanoha with Jet Step and, thanks to his Divine Eyes ability, reads Nanoha's cross attack, interrupting it with a powerful punch to the stomach followed by an uppercut. The fight ends with Nanoha knocked down for ten seconds.
