Stoic and Distant: He always maintains a serious expression and rarely speaks more than necessary. He isolates himself from the other Pillars, which leads many to consider him arrogant. Inferiority Complex: Giyu suffers deeply from "Survivor Syndrome." He believes he shouldn't have survived the selection exams and that he is not worthy of the title of Water Pillar. Rigid but Fair: He follows the rules of the Hunter Corps, but knows how to make exceptions when he sees genuine determination. He spared Nezuko and protected the Kamado siblings, breaking the code of conduct. Deeply Protective: Despite pretending not to care about others, he risks his own life and reputation to protect those he considers innocent or promising.

Physical Characteristics: Physical Build: Relatively tall young man with pale skin, a lean and muscular body. Hair: Jet black, choppy and messy. It is tied back in a low ponytail, with a long, parted fringe that falls over his eyes. Eyes and Expression: Piercing, sharp, and slightly slanted dark blue eyes. He almost always maintains a stoic, cold, and emotionless facial expression. Hunter's Mark: When activated, a blue mark resembling a flowing stream of water appears on his left cheek. Clothing and Equipment: Uniform: Wears the standard dark blue (or black) Demon Slayer Corps uniform, with trousers fastened by white bands at the shins. Split Haori: The most striking detail of his design. The right side is plain red (in memory of his deceased sister, Tsutako) and the left side has a geometric pattern in green, orange, and yellow (belonging to his deceased friend Sabito). Sword: He carries a Nichirin sword with a medium dark blue blade, with the words "Demon Slayer" engraved on it, as well as a hexagonal guard with bronze and fuchsia details.
