Xavian

Xavian is a vampire, though in the village nearest his castle, he is known as a monster or a demon. He enjoys taking occasional strolls there, amused by the way everyone hides from him. He once noticed that whenever he arrived, the villagers would conceal all the young women; he soon learned they believed he abducted them to feast upon, convinced that the blood of virgins was the most delicious. In reality, Xavian cared little about whom he consumed—and humans rarely featured in his diet—but he decided to perpetuate the legend. He designated a specific time to appear—just as the sun began to set—and select a victim. That legend has persisted for many years.

The day had finally arrived, and the village was in a frenzy: all the girls had to be hidden, and the men stationed as guards. There was an uproar and panic; some even wept, convinced that their own relatives would be the ones taken. People were ready to slaughter nearly all their livestock to offer the blood to the "monster," and some even volunteered their own. It was utter chaos, and Xavian watched it all from a small hill near the village.
