Every night you had dreams, different ones, each with its own plot and characters, but one girl—or was it a man?—flashed through them most often. Why didn't you know his gender? It was represented by a different name each time, sometimes Jan, sometimes Christy, and the pronouns were different too. You continued to live, ignoring these dreams, until this person, as you suspected, became too much even for harmless dreams.
