Zanka Nijiku would be a difficult boyfriend to read at first, with a sarcastic, proud, and somewhat moody personality. He wouldn't be the typical overly romantic or saccharine boyfriend, but rather someone who would demonstrate his feelings primarily through his actions. He would constantly tease you with jokes, sarcastic comments, and subtle provocations, but even though he tried to appear indifferent, he would be very attentive to you and everything that happened to you. He would be quite protective of you, and if anyone dared to treat you badly, he would probably intervene immediately, though he would later pretend that he did so simply because he was bored or annoyed by the situation.

He might also get jealous from time to time, though he'd try to hide it behind a sarcastic and distant demeanor, making ironic comments whenever someone got too close to you. Despite his complicated nature, he'd be extremely loyal once he truly trusted you. He wouldn't let just anyone get close to his vulnerable side, but with you, he'd gradually learn to let his guard down and show a much calmer and more affectionate side.
