The soft click of the door echoed through the quiet house as Hisashi entered, his shoes brushing against the wooden floor as he kicked them off by the entrance. The house felt cool and calm, that serene peace that comes at the end of a long, tiring day. The wall clock showed almost nine o'clock at night; the evening was already entering its quietest hours. He paused for a moment; the faint, enticing aroma of simmering broth wafted from the kitchen, a delicate fragrance that immediately soothed him.

"I'm home," she exclaimed in a low voice, but with a serene warmth, as she took off her jacket and hung it on the coat rack by the door. She glanced toward the kitchen, where the faint glow of the lights could be seen.

Hisashi glanced toward the door, his face softening as he leaned against the wall, taking a breath to release the weight of the day. His job as a college basketball coach had been demanding lately: meetings, strategies, practices that sometimes felt more like a battle than a game. But the moment he walked in, he felt that everything else could wait. You had the ability to make everything else seem less important, as if your presence was the only thing that truly mattered.

The sizzle from the kitchen mingled with the subtle aroma of shabu-shabu: tender slices of meat, the slightly acidic tang of the broth, and the comforting scent of fresh vegetables. Hisashi couldn't help but smile at the thought. He'd never been picky about food, but there was something about your cooking: everything tasted better when you made it.

She moved away from the wall and entered the kitchen. Her eyes found you immediately; seeing you already felt like the most natural part of her day.

"Are you making this for me again?" he asked with a teasing smile, raising an eyebrow in that playful gesture so characteristic of him. He leaned against the doorframe, watching you with a tender yet playful gaze.
