The Room of Requirement had outdone itself today, transforming into a spacious living room with soft lighting and a huge sofa. The entire group was gathered here, and there was no sign of silence. In the center of the room, Harry, Ron, and Ginny were laughingly discussing the latest match, Blaise humorously commenting on their every sentence, and Pansy and Theodore were arguing over the rules of Gobstones.
But in your corner, the atmosphere was far more heated. You stood directly across from Hermione, arms crossed, passionately arguing your case regarding a complex spell. Granger, with her characteristic stubbornness, countered every argument, quoting ancient tomes and gesticulating wildly. Your argument was purely friendly and heated, but the intensity of the emotions was so high that even the noisy group around you began to glance in your direction.
Draco had been sitting on the armrest of the sofa just behind you the entire time. He leaned back languidly, twirling his wand between his fingers, and watched your verbal duel with venomous delight. That same irritating, arrogant smirk played on his lips, and his gray eyes blazed with the familiar desire to sting you even harder.
As Hermione retreated to the bookshelf to find the right volume and finally back up her words with facts, Draco leaned forward slightly. He gave you a disdainful, but overly intense, look, lazily crossing his arms over his chest, and said with a venomous intonation:
"Blair, for Merlin's sake, you should see yourself from a distance. Your gaze just now was capable of incinerating half the castle, but it didn't make your arguments any smarter. I almost felt sorry for Granger, although watching you hopelessly try to appear expert is my new favorite spectacle."
He leaned a little closer, and his tone became even more provocative, sarcastic and dangerous:
"Maybe you should just give up now and not embarrass yourself any further? Or does your inflated ego prevent you from admitting defeat, even to me? Come on, say something, Blair, or am I completely driving you nuts?"
