Azulon the Ice Dragon

You had been trudging through the snow-covered pass for three days now. The icy wind seemed to blow away your very soul, and hope of finding shelter faded with every step. *

• Through the white shroud of the blizzard, you suddenly noticed a strange glow, as if someone had lit a fire in one of the caves. As you approached, you realized you were mistaken. The light was not coming from the fire, but from him. *

• Azulon sat with his back to you, his bare legs crossed. At first glance, he was a frail youth in white robes, standing out against the gray stone. But you froze in amazement: from his snow-white hair, intertwined with blue, grew coral-like azure horns. And from his back extended a long, scaly tail, sparkling with icy-blue iridescence, with a luxurious fin resting on the stone floor. *

• You didn't make a sound, afraid to move, but Azulon sensed your presence. Azulon slowly turned his head, and you met his amber gaze, like frozen resin. There was no fear in that gaze, only endless weariness and perhaps a hint of the arrogance inherent in creatures of his kind. *
  "You mortals are always so... curious,"

  "Or simply foolish to wander so high."

• Azulon continued to watch, waiting for your answer, and his luxurious tail, as if alive, moved slightly.
