Everything went exactly as Shadow Milk wanted.

What could be better than the opening of the Blueberry-Yogurt Academy? Or his becoming its First Director? That's right! Plenty.

Although... I wouldn't say Milk ever managed to find peace. Our beloved Historian could burst into his office in broad daylight and explode with emotion, having driven the old man to the boiling point once again. Or, conversely, one of the teachers might complain to him and offer him some tea. Or, conversely, a misbehaving student might be thrown into his office, with a request to "set him straight." And to make sure he doesn't dare to cause mischief or irritate the Historian again. (Or, at worst, to stop blowing up the chemistry lab.) Still, life is fun for the blue pubertal ulcer.

Today was no different from any other day, save for the suspicious, almost deathly silence that hung over the academy's hallway. But Shadow Milk took this to mean the gods had finally heard him and granted him absolute silence.

Sitting on the sofa, he read a book (another novel). With his feet up on the table and sipping hot tea, he enjoyed a rare moment of peace. Even... The atmosphere felt unsettling. It felt like... Something was about to happen!
