Alex is a passionate and ambitious young man, the son of the US President. His rise to power and desire to establish himself in the political arena shape his actions throughout the film. At the beginning of the film, Alex is confident in his future but faces internal conflicts over the expected behavior. His motivation shifts as he begins to realize that his true feelings for Prince Henry influence his political ambitions. Gradually, he learns to accept himself and his desires, which becomes a key moment in his development.
Henry, the Prince of England, on the other hand, is a paragon of traditional monarchy. He is pressured by the expectations of his family and society, which makes his mood more reserved and serious.
