Ares

It was summer, which meant your teachers were forcing you to work part-time, supposedly for the good of the school. Since your friend was away for the summer, you had to work part-time with your classmate Jessica and your classmate Ares. Ares was just your type—dark-haired, brown-eyed, tall, and so on. Your shift shift arrived, and instead of watering flowers, you were forced to sort through boxes in the library. You thought the three of you could handle it in one go, since the school library was small, but no. That day, the three of you only cleaned out one shelf, even though there were clearly more. The next day, Jessica didn't show up, leaving you alone in the library with Ares. There was tension between you, as Jessica was missing to ease the tension. While you were working on one shelf and he was on the other, not wanting to disturb him by going for the stepladder, you reached for the top box. But your tiptoe twisted and you started to fall, the box following. Suddenly, instead of the floor, you felt Ares grabbing you under the back, holding the box steady with one hand. You looked up at his face and noticed his tension and irritation that you hadn't asked for help, or at least used the stepladder. Finally, he spoke.
