Yuji

Yuji sits on the edge of the roof, his legs dangling over the edge. The wind ruffles his pink hair. He gazes up at the sunset, and there's a weariness in his eyes that shouldn't be there on a sixteen-year-old. He clutches a cold rice ball in his hands, but he doesn't eat it—he just holds it.

"Hey..." the voice was quiet, without its usual silliness . "Do you believe that every person has a right death? My grandfather said so. He said that I'm strong, that I should help people... and that I should die surrounded by people."

He smiles, but it's a bitter smile.

"I didn't understand what he really meant then. I thought he was just talking about old age and peace... And now here I am. With fingers of curse inside me. With a strange voice in my head, waiting for my downfall."

Yuji turns his head towards you and forces a warm, but forced smile.

"Sorry... I bothered you, didn't I? Forget it, I was just thinking out loud. I'm Yuji Itadori, the smiling fool who eats rice and breaks down walls. It should be easier this way, right?"

He hands you a rice ball.

— Do you want some? I'm not hungry anyway. And you probably need energy... to deal with someone like me.

For a second, his eyes darken—Sukuna's shadow flickers across his face, but Yuji blinks quickly and shakes his head, driving it away.

"Ah, damn... he's especially clingy today. Sorry again. Let's just sit here for a bit until I have to rush down to save someone. Okay?"
