The Jungle Book

What it looks like: a small village on the edge of the jungle. Houses made of wood and clay, roofs of thatch, vegetable gardens along the edge. During the day, the village seems peaceful, but at night the jungle creeps closer, and the people sense it.
Relationships with the pack: tense. People view wolves as a threat to livestock, while wolves view people as an unpredictable and noisy force that disrupts old paths.
Attitude towards large predators like Shere Khan or Bagheera: They try to avoid them and flee to the village at the sight of predators. However, they sometimes try to hunt Shere Khan by building pit traps and using all means to get rid of this tiger.

Drak is a wolf who keeps to himself, but always comes when needed.
Role: a loner by nature, but not a traitor: if the pack is in trouble, he will be there.
Appearance: A dark, almost black wolf with a heavy gaze and a scar across his shoulder. He moves separately, as if he deliberately doesn't want to blend into the crowd. Personality: Silent, tough, and doesn't like empty words. He distrusts people and makes no secret of it, but he treats Mowgli like one of his own, because he's proven himself with his actions.
Backstory: He once left the pack for several moons because he couldn't accept Akela's decision. He returned when the wild dogs came. Since then, he doesn't argue out loud, but if necessary, his teeth will land where the enemy hurts most.

Kira is a young she-wolf who wants to prove that she is an adult.
Role: ambitious, wants to be useful and noticeable, sometimes in too much of a hurry.
Appearance: Slender, agile, with a nearly black coat with silver tips. Her eyes are bright and impatient. She seems constantly on the run. Personality: Energetic, bold, but can act on emotion. She wants to be considered an equal to her elders, so she often proposes the most daring plans.
Backstory: She recently participated in her first real hunt and did everything right, but she still feels underappreciated.

Bor is an old wolf who remembers the old laws and does not like change.
Role: Keeper of the pack's traditions, voice of "how it was before."
Appearance: A large, but slightly hunched wolf. His fur has grayed, especially on his muzzle and shoulders, his movements have slowed, but his gaze remains sharp. Personality: Stubborn, but fair. Not against Mowgli personally, but against changing age-old rules for his sake.
Backstory: He remembers times when the pack was smaller and survival was harder. For him, "order" is what saved them all.

Veta is a she-wolf who notices everything, but doesn't like to be the center of attention.
Role: "eyes of the pack": sees who is tired, who is lying, who is hiding fear.
Appearance: A graceful yet wiry she-wolf with steel-gray fur and a very calm, almost motionless gaze. She moves silently, as if she weren't there until she decides to appear.
Personality: Observant, cautious, dislikes hasty decisions. She doesn't push forward, but when she speaks, people listen. Background: She once saved the pack by spotting a wild dog ambush in time. Since then, Akela trusts her instincts, and the others try not to irritate her.

Grey Brother is the sibling of the Raksha cubs, much like Mowgli's brother.
Role: Mowgli's closest ally among the wolves, the one who has known him since childhood and does not consider him a "stranger".
Appearance: A sturdy young wolf with ash-gray fur and alert amber eyes. One ear is slightly torn—a reminder of his first serious hunt. He stays close to Mowgli, as if always ready to watch his back. Personality: Direct, without unnecessary diplomacy, but loyal. He doesn't like lengthy arguments: if a fight needs to be fought, he's already there.
Backstory: He grew up with Mowgli and got used to him not being weaker, but simply different. For Gray Brother, the question of "friend or foe" doesn't even arise.

Appearance: Bright red, a splash against the green leaves. Feathers ruffled, as if she'd just dashed through the bushes. Eyes wide, perpetually surprised. Constantly twitching her tail, as if she can't sit still.
Personality: fussy, talkative, genuinely wants to be helpful, but due to a poor memory, she gets everything wrong. Not mean—just a "fast and noisy messenger." Backstory: she once heard important advice from Hathi, but only remembered half of it, causing the pack to go down the wrong path. Since then, her words are treated with caution, and she tries to speak even louder to be sure she's heard.

Shanti is a young she-wolf, the voice of the "middle path"
Appearance: Elegant, with golden-gray fur and alert eyes. She holds herself evenly, as if always assessing the situation.

Personality: She's reasonable and doesn't want to be exiled or blindly protected. It's important to her that Mowgli proves his usefulness to the pack.

Gray is a young wolf, Fao's right hand man.
Appearance: A slender, agile wolf with silver fur and lively, slightly nervous eyes. He seems constantly alert to every rustle.

Personality: Ambitious, but not cruel by nature: he's more of a "doer" who believes in Fao's authority. He sometimes doubts, but is afraid to show weakness.
Backstory: Gray grew up under Fao's wing and considers him a model of strength. He doesn't hate Mowgli so much as he fears that the stranger will weaken the pack—and then his brothers and sisters will suffer.

Mowgli's adoptive father, a quiet protector
Appearance: A large, calm wolf with thick, gray-brown fur. Its gaze is gentle but alert. It moves silently, like a shadow.

Personality: Silent, reliable. Doesn't like public arguments, but if necessary, he'll stand between Mowgli and danger without further ado.

Backstory: He was the one who first found Mowgli in the jungle and brought him to the den. For him, Mowgli isn't a "pack problem," but "his wolf cub," and he's ready to protect him quietly, but to the bitter end.

Fao is a wolf who openly wants to drive Mowgli out.
In some adaptations, he becomes the new leader after Akela, and he treats Mowgli as a "stranger who brings trouble" from the very beginning.

Appearance: A strong, wiry wolf with dark gray fur and a piercing gaze. He holds his head slightly forward, as if always ready for a fight. An old claw scar on his left shoulder is a reminder that in the pack, you have to fight for your place. Personality: Stubborn, straightforward, and doesn't like to "soften the edges." For him, the pack is, above all, strength and purity of blood, and Mowgli is the weak link that makes the pack vulnerable.

Backstory: Fao grew up in difficult times, when the pack lost wolf cubs to humans and wild dogs. He firmly believes that "outsiders" bring danger. When Akela protects Mowgli, Fao sees it as weakness, not nobility.

Tobaccos (Tabaqui)
Role: Jackal, Shere Khan's henchman, the embodiment of gossip and petty meanness.
Appearance: A thin, nervous jackal with shifty eyes and a perpetually lowered tail. It moves jerkily, as if constantly looking back.
Personality: cowardly, but talkative; likes to be "in the know" and be the first to spread rumors.
Backstory: He sticks close to the strong because it's safer that way, and is willing to do anything mean if it keeps him alive.

Hathi
Role: elephant, keeper of order and traditions.
Appearance: massive, unhurried, with deep wrinkles on his skin and a calm gaze. He moves as if the rhythm of the jungle itself adapts to him.
Character: wise, patient, speaks rarely, but every word weighs heavily.
Backstory: Remembers the old days and knows that the jungle changes slowly, and sudden changes bring trouble.

Raksha
Role: she-wolf, Mowgli's adoptive mother, symbol of unconditional protection.
Appearance: A strong, wiry she-wolf with alert amber eyes. Her fur is slightly lighter than other wolves, as if sun-bleached.
Character: hot, determined, ready to fight for her people to the end.
Backstory: She was the first to stand up for Mowgli and has since considered him her cub, even though he is almost an adult.

Mowgli
Appearance: A teenager with tanned skin and alert, lively eyes. His black hair is slightly disheveled, and his clothing consists of scraps of fabric and vines, as if the jungle itself had "dressed" him. He moves quickly, like a cat, but sometimes trips over his own impulses.
Backstory: He is both "one of us" and "another": he understands the language of animals, but he has a human curiosity that often leads to trouble. He does not speak the language of people because he spent his whole life among animals in the jungle.

Akela
Appearance: A gray wolf with a noble bearing and alert blue eyes. His fur has grayed in places, especially on his muzzle—a sign of age and experience. He holds his head high, but not arrogantly: this is the posture of a leader who must see further than anyone else. He is the leader of the pack, but he is already old.
Backstory: He's kept the pack in balance for years, but now he feels old rules colliding with new threats. He's not opposed to change, but only if it doesn't break unity.

Kaa
Appearance: A giant python with a hypnotic pattern on its scales: dark spots on an olive-brown background, like ripples on water. Its eyes are large and motionless, its gaze seemingly captivating. Its movements are smooth, almost imperceptible, until it decides to strike.
Backstory: The elder of the jungle remembers the times when people came rarely and quietly. He's not so much angry as indifferent to others' panic: for him, everything is part of a greater rhythm. When he's full, he sleeps and doesn't like to be woken. Mowgli sometimes confuses him with Diana when he's jumping through the trees.

Shere Khan
Appearance: A huge tiger with a heavy, confident gait. His coat is golden with contrasting black stripes; his gaze is heavy, hypnotic. He has a noticeable scar on his left eye: a jagged line, as if struck by a sharp object. The background and cause of the scar: in his youth, he ran into a group of hunters. They failed to kill him, but one of them slashed his face with a knife, leaving a scar. Since then, Shere Khan has associated humans with pain, deception, and the noise that destroys the jungle. He doesn't just "hate people" - he considers them troublemakers who need to be eliminated so that the jungle remains "clean." (As far as I remember, there was an episode in the cartoon where it was told that when Shere Khan was a tiger, his mother was taken away by people, and that's why he treats people the way he does because the scars are too deep.) He considers himself the king of the jungle, and all the animals agree with him.

Bagheera
Appearance: A black panther with perfect posture. His fur is smooth and shiny, his movements fluid and silent. His gaze is sharp, as if scanning the space. Even when resting, he looks as if he's ready to spring in a split second. And he is male, with gray eyes.
Backstory: He grew up in captivity and knows what a cage is (he once lived in a human palace), so he especially values ​​freedom and order. For him, discipline is a way to protect the weak, not a way to show power. He, like Baloo, is protective of Mowgli. He also loves to lie on a branch, like a victim, especially when Baloo is teaching Mowgli a lesson. He also participates in the wolf pack council with Baloo.

Baloo
Appearance: A large, powerful, yet seemingly "loose" bear: its fur is matted in places, its flanks are rounded, its gaze is kind, and the corners of its mouth seem to be always slightly raised in a half-smile. It moves slowly and ponderously, but when necessary, it can accelerate instantly.
Backstory: He once tried to be a "strict teacher," but quickly realized that the jungle favors those who don't overexert themselves. His philosophy is to survive and stay in a good mood. He is Mowgli's teacher, teaching him the laws of the jungle and sometimes, along with Bagheera, protecting him from dangers like Shere Khan. He is a member of the wolf pack council.
