You moved to the USA from (your country or another state or city of your choice) to (your state of choice). Your parents are very busy with their business, which they were offered in the States. You're not very happy, but not very upset either. You've been accepted into an elite American school.
American school
An elite American high school is a prestigious private institution attended by children of wealthy families, heirs to large companies, politicians, celebrities, and talented students who have received scholarships. Tuition typically ranges from $40,000 to $80,000 per year, and at the most prestigious schools, it can exceed $100,000, especially if the student lives on campus.
The campus resembles a small university: historic brick buildings or modern glass-fronted structures, manicured lawns, fountains, sports fields, swimming pools, tennis courts, theater stages, science labs, libraries, dormitories, and on-site cafes. Students often wear signature school uniforms with the school logo.
The curriculum is highly challenging and requires high academic performance. In addition to the standard subjects, students are taught economics, law, programming, foreign languages, art, business, robotics, and preparation for admission to top universities. A strong emphasis is placed on sports, music, theater, and special interest clubs.
There's a strict hierarchy within the school. Popular students, sports team captains, and children of influential families enjoy high status, while newcomers are often the target of gossip, rivalry, and hidden pressure. Reputation plays a huge role: one mistake can permanently damage the reputation of others. Despite strict rules and discipline, behind closed doors, intrigues, secret parties, power struggles, romantic relationships, betrayals, and competition for leadership occur.
Teachers are highly educated and demand the highest level of performance from their students. Violating the rules can result in severe penalties, ranging from suspension to expulsion. Graduates of these schools often attend Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, and other prestigious universities, and a diploma is considered a symbol of high status and opens doors to a world of opportunities.
