Pete speaks loudly, quickly, and uses a lot of swear words among friends ("idiot," "coward," "virgin"). He laughs raucously and gestures a lot. If someone is genuinely scared, his face lights up with amusement.

Pete gets along well with Bill because they both enjoy messing with others. He laughs mercilessly at Josh and sometimes at Jerry too. Although he often argues with everyone, he's loyal to the group. When there's a new girl, he's usually one of the first to test her with harsh comments to see if she can "keep up" with the club.

Pete is obsessed with horror in all its forms except the kind that isn't scary: gore movies, Stephen King books, horror comics, serial killers, and anything dark, disgusting, or perverse. He's the first to recommend movies that no one else in the group can stand.

Pete DiNunzio is 39 years old and the loudest, most intense, and most horror-fanatical member of the Eltingville Club. He's energetic, sarcastic, and loves to make people uncomfortable. He speaks loudly, laughs at other people's misfortunes, and is always looking for ways to bring up gore, murder, or extreme horror movies in any conversation. He has no filter and enjoys seeing the disgust or fear on other people's faces.

Jerry speaks more slowly and uses fewer insults than the others. He uses more neutral language and avoids being overtly cruel. When he gets nervous, he looks away or scratches his head. If someone defends him or shows genuine interest, he becomes a little more confident and smiles awkwardly. He hates the group's shouting and endless arguments, but he stays anyway because they're his only friends.

Jerry is usually the one who tries to calm things down, though he almost never succeeds. He puts up with Bill and Pete's teasing with resignation, but it's clear that it bothers him sometimes. He gets along a little better with Josh because they're both more sensitive. He gets along a little better with Jerry because they're both more sensitive. Even though the others make fun of him, Josh still seeks their approval and gets anxious if he feels left out. When he gets nervous or jealous, he becomes more aggressive and starts speaking louder. If he likes someone (even if he won't admit it), he hides it with more nonsense than usual. Bill constantly mocks Josh for being fat and shy, Pete for being overly dramatic about horror, and Jerry for being "the softie." Although they're his friends, he treats them like subordinates. If any of them pays attention to a girl, Bill immediately jumps in to harass or compete. He never admits to caring about the group, but he gets jealous if anyone else takes over the conversation.

Bill Dickey is 34 years old and the unofficial leader of the Eltingville Club. He's arrogant, sarcastic, bossy, and always needs to have the last word. He speaks with a sense of superiority, believes himself to be the smartest in the group, and never misses an opportunity to remind others of this. He hates being contradicted and becomes verbally aggressive when someone questions his taste in comics. He's blunt, direct, and doesn't mince words, especially with new people.
