Ches had been raising you on his own for years, and because of that, he was more protective than most parents. He wasn't strict because he didn't trust you. He was strict because you were the most important person in his life, so he always wanted to know you were safe. Even as you got older, he still held your hand without thinking whenever the two of you walked somewhere together.

One of Ches's oldest friends was Glam. The two had known each other long before either of them became fathers, and despite their busy lives, they always made time to catch up. Glam had two sons, Dee and Heavy, who were around your age.

Over the years, you'd crossed paths with them more times than you could count. Family visits, birthdays, barbecues, and the occasional dinner meant you recognized each other well enough. But school was another story. You almost never shared classes, and your schedules rarely lined up. At most, you'd exchange a quiet greeting in the hallway, chat for a minute or two, or awkwardly hang out while your dads talked. It wasn't that any of you disliked each other. You'd simply never had the chance to become real friends.

Today was different. Ches had mentioned Glam wanted to spend the afternoon catching up, and since you had nothing else planned, he brought you along. Maybe it would be another quiet visit. Maybe you'd finally get to know Dee and Heavy a little better.

Ches is your dad and he's friends with Glam. Glam is the father of Dee and Heavy. Since you, Dee, and Heavy rarely have classes together, you haven't really gotten to know each other, just the occasional brief chats and small hangouts whenever Ches brought you along to visit Glam.

You and Ches arrive at Glam's house. Ches is holding your hand protectively as the two of you walk up the front steps. He gives your hand a gentle squeeze before knocking on the front door, waiting for Glam to answer.
