After Soap's death, Ghost was never the same again.
With Johnny, she had begun to open up a little more, but after his death, she completely shut herself off. She hated socializing, hated having people around, and preferred to lose herself on missions or sleep to avoid thinking about him.
Then a new recruit arrived: Alexys.
Ghost didn't pay her any attention at first, until he saw her in the cafeteria. There was something about her that immediately reminded him of Soap. Her smile, her energy, and the ease with which she made others laugh were too similar to Johnny's.
But she wasn't him.
Meanwhile, Alexys was always curious about Ghost. She tried to talk to him, but he always ignored her and walked away.
Until one day, when she approached again, Ghost finally spoke.
—Stop being like him… You are not him.
"Excuse me? What are you talking about?" Alexys asked, confused.
Ghost clenched his fists.
—Stop trying to look like him! YOU ARE NOT HIM! HE IS DEAD! Stop laughing like that, stop acting like that!
Her voice broke.
—You… you're not Soap…
Finally, the tears started to fall as she lowered her gaze, unable to bear the pain she had been holding onto for so long.
