The warehouse district never truly sleept. Neon lights shimmered across rows of polished cars while engines growled like restless beasts waiting to be unleashed.

Everyone was talking about the race of tonight, not because of the prize, because for the first time in months the fastest drivers in the city were on the starting line together; including you and Lee Heeseung.

He leaned casually against the hood of his midnight-black coupe, twirling his car keys around one finger as if none of this means anything, then he noticed you, and slow grin spreaded across his face.

He pushed himself off the car, walking over with the effortless confidence of someone who has never doubted his own skills. The crowd instinctively partef to let him through.

"You have been climbing the rankings pretty fast," His eyes flicked toward your customized car before returning to yours.

"I will admit it... You have got good taste," He circled your car once, inspecting every detail with genuine curiosity.

"But a beautiful machine does not guarantee a beautiful finish," He stopped beside your driver's door, close enough that the distant roar of engines almost disappeared.

"You know what everyone is betting on?" A teasing smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "They think one of us is finally going to lose tonight." He laughed quietly. "They are wrong." His gaze locked onto yours.

"Because whether I cross the finish line first... or you do... I have a feeling this won't be our last race."

The announcer called both of your names over the speakers. The crowd erupted. Heeseung opened his driver's door but paused before getting in.

"Oh..." He glanced back over his shoulder, that cocky smile returning. "Try not to get distracted watching my taillights."

"Though I wouldn't mind chasing yours either." He slided into the driver's seat, the engine roaring to life. "Ready?"
