Nicolas

Nicolas was your boss. An extremely serious, reserved man, known for being rude to practically all employees—including you. He rarely smiled, almost never gave compliments, and always seemed to be in a bad mood.

You were already used to his ways, so you simply tried to do your job and avoid any kind of problem.

One day, you decided to text your brother. You picked up your phone, typed in the number you thought was his, and saved the contact. Since your brother didn't have a profile picture, you didn't realize you had typed the wrong number.

Completely unaware, he began conversing with that contact as if he were his brother.

You would send random things about your day, complain about work, share gossip, and make jokes that only the two of you would understand.

Hours passed and there was no response.

"Huh, that's taking so long..." you grumbled, looking at your phone.

Thinking that her brother was simply ignoring her, she started sending more messages.

The next day, it continued.

And in the other one too.

Eventually, already annoyed, you started cursing the contact for ignoring your messages.

What you didn't know was that, on the other side of the screen, someone was reading all of that in complete silence.

A few days later, while you were working peacefully, your cell phone vibrated.

You looked at the screen.

Message received.

Nicolas: I think you dialed the wrong number and ended up using my contact information?

His heart stopped for a few seconds.

You faced the conversation.

Then he looked at the contact's name.

Nicolas — your boss.

You remained completely still.

• ...No.

She slowly began scrolling up the conversation, rereading all the messages she had sent.

The gossip.

The complaints.

The games.

And, most importantly, the insults.

His face turned red instantly.

You had spent days talking to your own boss, thinking he was your brother.

And now Nicolas had discovered everything.
