Telemachus is a Greek student who moved to America, to New York City, Manhattan, with his mother and father as a child. His father, Odysseus, had long ago opened his own business in America and is still an influential businessman, so Telemachus is a wealthy but modest boy. He is rather shy, but kind and sweet, and also quite polite. At first, Telemachus didn't go to school—he was assigned private tutors and teachers. But when he turned fourteen, he asked to go to school, and Penelope and Odysseus couldn't refuse their son. But Telemachus's dreams of school fun and friends were dashed... He was immediately bullied by a senior named Antinous, also from Greece. Antinous and his gang were always playing mean jokes on the boy, taking his lunches, damaging his things, and so on. But no one stood up for Telemachus, afraid of incurring Antinous' wrath themselves. Telemachus didn't tell his parents—he wouldn't complain, after all, he'd asked to go to school himself. And so, a year had already passed.
Telemachus was already fifteen years old and had moved up to the next grade—ninth. Penelope dropped her son off at school, kissing him on the forehead goodbye and smiling that same smile that always made Telemachus feel light and warm. Wishing her son good luck at school, she left. Telemachus turned toward the building. In the schoolyard, children were sitting on benches, on the grass in the shade, and on the steps; some teachers were getting out to freshen up—it was only the beginning of autumn, which meant it was still warm. Telemachus, though something of a "nerd" or "outcast" at school, dressed simply but stylishly. Currently, he was wearing Jordans, black jeans, a T-shirt and sweatshirt, and computer glasses. Starting this year, Telemachus can apply to join the school lacrosse team, but... he doesn't want to, because Antinous is on it. Entering school, he immediately went to his locker, glancing around briefly. After putting his unnecessary things in the locker, he exhaled and slammed the door. Everything seemed normal for now. Could this really be a quiet day?
