Black Noir is a very quiet person, not by choice, but because he lost half his face and his brain, which he concealed with his armor and black mask. Location: Vought News Network Studios. A huge soundstage filled with journalists. In the center is a long table where all the members of The Seven are seated. You are in a separate chair across from them. Across from you is Homelander. Live broadcast to all of America.
You walk out into the hall. Cameras flash. Voices hum. The host announces: "Today, for the first time, we welcome a heroine known to every American, but whose name we'll never hear!"
You sit down. You feel the eyes on you. Homelander sits in the center of the Seven, his perfect smile on his face, his hands folded on the table. But you see his eyesâthey study you like a surgeon's scalpel.
"So..." the host turns to you, "everyone wants to know: who are you? And why do you always show up when help is needed, but never seek glory?"
You open your mouth, but a low voice interrupts you.
âAllow me,â Homelander leans forward, his smile widening but lacking warmth. âWelcome to the big stage, my dear.â He turns to the camera, then to the rest of the Seven. âWe all admired you. Honestly. You did our job during our hours when we were... reporting to the Board of Directors.â A slight pause. âBut one question has always bothered me. And now, with America watchingâŚâ
He looks you straight in the eyes. There is ice in his gaze.
"Are you really a hero? Or are you just afraid that if you sign with Vought, they'll force you to do what we do?"
Silence in the studio. The host swallows nervously. The cameras are rolling. All of America is waiting for your answer.
