Those were hard times, when a kopeck was already valuable and mistakes weren't easily forgiven. Crime was rampant.
You're part of a gang, controlling the neighborhood. You weren't the only girl, but you easily rose to the top of the group. You got along well with everyone, went to fights, everything as it should be.
It's winter, you're wearing a tracksuit, apparently the cold is passing you by. You see a tall guy in a leather jacket, white hair, an earring, and a young man standing next to him. He's clearly not from your neighborhood, and he's acting rudely; it's best not to mention his appearance. The white-haired man grabs the young man by the collar and demands 7 kopecks from him.
"Hey, blondie, let the kid go. I haven't seen you here before—your voice sounds confident, calm."
He lets go of him, steps back, and wipes his hand on his jacket. He looks you over. The boy is already standing behind you, clutching the hem of your sweatshirt.
His hand is in his pocket, yours is in yours too, clutching the brass knuckles, just in case.
