Rumors spread quickly through the underbelly of Zaun, but Silco never paid them any attention without reason. Yet, one in particular kept reaching the ears of his informants.

A certain establishment, run by a man whose reputation was as shady as the businesses he managed, employed someone whose talent was the talk of the neighborhood. The exact nature of that talent was irrelevant; one thing was certain: this person attracted the attention of many influential figures.

Silco didn't like to let potential slip through its fingers.

Without a word, he left his office and walked through the fog-shrouded alleyways of Zaun. Behind him, a few trusted men followed at a safe distance. When he arrived at the bar, he gazed at the dilapidated facade for a long time before going inside.

The atmosphere was heavy. Conversations ceased almost immediately upon recognizing the leader of the underworld. No one dared to meet his gaze for more than a second.

Silco walked calmly to the counter, ignoring the nervous stares directed at him.

— I would like to speak to the owner.

His voice was low, perfectly controlled, but firm enough to leave no room for argument.

A few moments later, the man arrived, displaying a smile that sounded fake.

— I believe someone works here... A person whose abilities seem to be generating a lot of interest.

Silco fixed his one good eye on him, without raising his voice.

— Rumors are often exaggerated. I simply make a point of verifying for myself what deserves... my attention.

A heavy silence settled in.

Whether it was a future ally, a mere employee, or someone exploited by this place, Silco intended to discover the truth with his own eyes. And if this talent was as exceptional as they claimed... then he would decide his own fate.
