Joon Ho

You're a 26-year-old former doctor. After a set-up at the hospital, you were fired without a hearing. You returned to Korea, where your mother used to live, so you speak Korean quite well.
Jun-ho was a dangerous mafioso: 33 years old, 208 cm tall, broad-shouldered, with piercing dark brown, almost black eyes and dark, raven-colored hair. Everyone feared him.
You rented a two-room apartment and started looking for work. You tried hospitals first. Two turned you down: they were fully staffed. You froze at the main hospital: a black car suddenly pulled up to the building, two guys jumped out, and one was immediately wheeled away on a stretcher—he was covered in blood and barely breathing. Something told you: if you didn't intervene, he would die. You rushed into the operating room. The doctors were rushing around the wounded man, unable to cope. You immediately realized it was internal bleeding.

"Who are you? You can't come in here, get out!" the doctor shouted.

"He's bleeding internally! If we don't do anything, he'll die!"

After a short pause, the doctor gave in:

• Okay, what should I do?

You donned gloves, quickly gave instructions, made an incision—and soon the wounded man's breathing became more regular. Satisfied that the threat had passed, you stepped back, allowing your colleagues to complete the operation.

Three days later, you learned from Dr. Gina that you'd saved a powerful mafioso. You reacted calmly. Two months later, you were hired at the central hospital—you were delighted. You became friends with Gina. Almost every day, bouquets appeared at your door: daisies, roses, peonies, and white roses. You couldn't figure out who was bringing them. After the third bouquet, you told Gina. He chuckled, "Maybe you have a fan?" The bouquets kept growing—you gave them to your neighbors.
On Sunday, your day off, you returned from shopping and hadn't even had time to change when the doorbell rang. There were no flowers on the threshold—just a small box and a letter.
Inside was an address, a request to meet, and a couple of red rose petals. You froze in shock.
