Code Geass

The Student Council (Seito Kai) is the governing body of Ashford Academy.
He was involved in organizing school-wide events, including the annual school festival.

Millie Ashford is the eccentric council president. Shirley Fenette is a council member and Lelouch's classmate. A cheerful, energetic girl who is madly in love with the protagonist. Kind and loyal. Rival Cardemond. Nina Einstein.
Throughout the school year, the council organized various events, such as Cupid's Day, when students wore colorful hats shaped like love hearts (blue for boys and pink for girls). The academy baked a two-meter-diameter pizza every year. In 2017, Millie decided to bake a 20-meter-diameter pizza, forcing Rival, Lelouch, and Suzaku to join in.

The Holy Britannian Empire conquered nearly a third of the world. Japan was defeated and renamed "Area 11," and its inhabitants were discriminated against, derogatorily referred to as "Elevens."
The protagonist, Lelouch Lamperouge, is the eleventh prince of the Britannian Empire. Along with his younger sister, Nunnally, he is exiled to Japan as a political hostage. Seven years later, Lelouch accidentally finds himself in the middle of a conflict between Japanese rebels who have stolen a valuable capsule and the Britannian forces. In the capsule, he finds a mysterious green-haired girl named C.C. She offers him a deal: she will grant him the power of Geass—the ability of absolute obedience, allowing him to compel anyone to carry out his every command.
Lelouch decides to use this power to avenge his mother's death and create a world in which Nunnally, blinded and paralyzed by trauma, can live happily. Hiding his face behind a mask, he takes the codename Zero and becomes the leader of a resistance movement—the "Order of the Black Knights." His goal is to liberate Japan and protect the weak from the imperial tyranny.

Jeremiah Gottwald is a British officer and pilot of the Knightmare Frame. Known by his nickname, "Orange," it was given to him by Zero to confuse intelligence agencies, forcing them to waste resources on deciphering this "codeword." Jeremiah's fate is a story of rethinking duty and loyalty, and his unique ability directly influences the Geass mechanics of the story.
Appearance
Jeremiah is a strong, handsome man with a military bearing. He has short blond hair and a distinctive orange eye, which accentuates his individuality. He is almost always seen either in a British Army uniform or in the cockpit of a Knightmare. His appearance conveys discipline, strength, and readiness for battle.
Character
Jeremiah is a staunch purist: he believes in the superiority of the British aristocracy and the need for strict order. But his devotion is not blind fanaticism, but a deeply personal feeling. He served Empress Marianne and considered it his duty to protect her children, Lelouch and Nunnally. Jeremiah is impulsive and hot-blooded, prone to decisive action, sometimes too hastily. He combines iron discipline with strong emotional involvement: for him, duty is a personal oath.
History and role in the plot
At the beginning of the series, Jeremiah actively pursues Zero and suspects Suzaku of involvement in the assassination of Prince Clovis. During the Battle of Narita, he fights Karen and is blown up in his Knightmare: technically presumed dead. In reality, he is rescued by scientists working with CC and converted into a cyborg—most of the left side of his body is replaced with sakuradite-based metal implants.
The key consequence of these changes is Jeremiah's ability to neutralize Geass. His special implant literally "destroys" the ability's effects, making him uniquely suited to both enemies and allies. Realizing that he originally served Marianne and is therefore duty-bound to protect Lelouch, Jeremiah defects to Zero and becomes one of his most devoted defenders.

Shirley Fennett is Lelouch's classmate and close friend, a member of the Ashford Academy student council. Her storyline is one of the most emotionally charged moments in the series: she embodies simple human affection and the price those around her pay because of the war and Lelouch's secrets.

Shirley has medium-length, reddish-brown hair styled in loose waves. She has bright, expressive eyes and a warm, open smile that immediately conveys the image of a cheerful girl. Most often, she appears in the Ashford Academy uniform—her appearance is deliberately "ordinary," without pathos or drama: this emphasizes that Shirley is part of the calm school life that Lelouch strives to maintain despite his dual role.

Shirley is kind, sympathetic, and very emotional. She genuinely cares for her friends and strives to maintain a cozy and trusting environment among her classmates. Her most important trait is her devoted love for Lelouch: even after learning of his dark side, she cannot completely hate him. Shirley can be impulsive: strong feelings force her to act against her better judgment. She combines vulnerability and resilience—she is willing to protect those she loves, even if it hurts her.
History and role in the plot
From the very beginning, Shirley is in love with Lelouch and sincerely wants to be his support. Her life changes dramatically after her father's death in the war. Later, she learns that Zero is Lelouch and briefly becomes consumed by a thirst for revenge, but love proves stronger. Under Maou's influence, she nearly becomes a tool for manipulation against Lelouch; then he uses Geass on her to erase the memories of his secrets and spare her from suffering.

Nina Einstein is a character in the anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, a student at Ashford Academy, a talented scientist, and one of the key developers of the destructive weapon in the story.

Appearance and image
Nina is a short girl with short light brown hair and glasses. She is most often seen wearing the Ashford Academy school uniform. Her modest, bookish appearance emphasizes her introverted nature and immersion in science: she appears to be a diligent student for whom formulas and calculations are a way to cope with anxiety and the outside world.
Character
At the beginning of the series, Nina is presented as shy, anxious, and socially awkward: she avoids conflict, hides behind her computer, and is heavily dependent on the opinions of others. At the same time, she is highly intelligent and obsessed with science—precise calculations are her lifeline. Her most important character trait is a deep emotional attachment to Euphemia Li Britannia: Nina literally idolizes the princess because she once showed her kindness.
After Euphemia's death, Nina suffers a severe breakdown: grief and a sense of helplessness turn into rage and a thirst for revenge. During this period, she becomes extremely obsessive and willing to use any means necessary to achieve her goals. Later, a sense of responsibility awakens within her: she attempts to rectify the consequences of her actions and develops ways to neutralize the weapon she created.
At the plot's climax, Nina not only creates Freya but also directly influences the course of battle. She later develops a system capable of stopping the bomb's chain reaction, thereby attempting to atone for her guilt. Her journey is a story of how personal trauma, scientific talent, and strong emotions can lead to disaster—and then to attempts to make things right.

Euphemia Li Britannia is the third princess of the Holy Britannian Empire and the half-sister of Lelouch and Nunnally. She is one of the most emotionally charged characters in the series: her idealism and tragic fate greatly influence the course of events and the motivations of the main characters.
Appearance
Euphemia is distinguished by her refined and delicate appearance. She has long pink hair, styled into two neat buns on each side of her head. She is most often seen wearing an elegant pink and white dress, emphasizing her noble origins and gentle nature. A key detail of her style is a rose necklace, which has become a symbol of sorts for the heroine. Euphemia's image is deliberately crafted to evoke purity, kindness, and hope.

Euphemia is a genuinely kind, empathetic, and optimistic woman. She sincerely believes in the possibility of peaceful coexistence between the British and Japanese and strives to improve the lives of oppressed people without the use of force. Her idealism is not naive: she is willing to take responsibility and act if she sees a chance for positive change. At the same time, she is capable of showing firmness when it comes to defending her beliefs. She shares a warm relationship with Suzaku Kururugi; she treats Lelouch with understanding and compassion, seeing him not only as an enemy but also as a person struggling with an inner struggle.
History and role in the plot
Having become the Deputy Governor-General of Area 11 (occupied Japan), Euphemia decides to implement her plan to improve the situation of the Japanese. She envisions creating a Special Administrative Region of Japan—an autonomous region where the indigenous population could live on equal terms with the British. To implement this idea, she enters into secret negotiations with Zero (i.e., Lelouch), and an agreement is reached between them.
Tragedy occurs during a public ceremony declaring autonomy. At that moment, Lelouch loses control of his Geass—a superpower that compels people to obey orders. Unwittingly, he gives Euphemia the command "kill the Japanese."

Nunnally vi Britannia is the princess of the Holy Britannian Empire, Lelouch's younger sister, the moral center of the story, and her brother's main motivator.
Appearance
Nunnally has long, curly light-brown hair, violet eyes, and is 160 cm tall. For a long time, she used a wheelchair: due to an injury and the Geass imposed by the Emperor, she was blind and unable to walk. Her sight later returned. In the first season, she often wore the Ashford Academy uniform or a simple green and white dress; in the second, after becoming Vice Governor of Area 11, she wore a pink and white dress styled after a school uniform.
Character
Nunnally is kind, compassionate, and patient, yet possesses inner strength. She is optimistic, maintains her composure, and genuinely wants to help people. Her smile is a way of expressing gratitude to those around her. When necessary, she is capable of making tough decisions: for example, she voluntarily used the FLEIJA weapon to transform it into a symbol of her hatred of war.
History and role in the plot
Born on October 25, 2003. At the age of six, she witnessed an assassination attempt on her mother, Marianne vi Britannia: she sustained bullet wounds to her legs, leaving her unable to walk, while the trauma and the Emperor's Geass left her blind. She was exiled to Japan with Lelouch as a political hostage; there, they befriended Suzaku Kururugi. In the second season, Nunnally becomes the vice-governor of Area 11. In the finale, having learned of Lelouch's true plans, she dedicates herself to maintaining peace and serves as an honorary advisor. For Lelouch, his sister's well-being is his primary motivation for fighting for a new world, and her belief in dialogue is opposed to his radical methods.

Kallen Kozuki is an ace pilot of the Black Knights and Lelouch's personal bodyguard.
Date of birth: March 29, 2000. Height: 171 cm. Distinguishing features: large blue eyes and short red hair down to the shoulders.
Kallen is determined, courageous, and loyal, but can sometimes be hot-tempered and impulsive. She is quite sensitive and empathetic on the inside, but tries to hide this side, especially after her brother's death. Kallen is half-British, but doesn't consider herself that way, preferring the Japanese surname Kozuki and fighting on the side of the terrorists and the OCR.
Her call sign, Q-1, comes from the word "queen," the most powerful chess piece.

Appearance. A young man (17 years old in Season 1, 18 in Season 2) with light brown hair and green eyes; height: 176 cm. He appears slender, but is distinguished by great physical strength. In Season 1, he wears the Ashford Academy uniform, a Knightmare battle suit, or a soldier's uniform; in Season 2, he wears the attire of the Knights of the Round with a long blue cloak, and later, the black cloak of Knight Zero. Nicknames: "White Knight" and "White Grim Reaper." Personality. In his youth, he was daring and somewhat selfish, but after a tragedy, his personality changes dramatically. Suzaku is convinced that the world must be changed from within, without senseless violence, and seeks to atone for the act that has become a heavy burden for him. He is devoted to duty and orders, but capable of making harsh decisions when he deems them necessary. Under the influence of Geass ("Live!"), he finds himself in a painful conflict: he desperately wants to die, yet is forced to live. He opposes Lelouch-Zero, seeing his methods as disregarding human life. History and Role. Son of Japanese Prime Minister Genbu Kururugi. As a child, he befriended Lelouch and Nunnally when they lived in the Kururugi residence. During the Britannian invasion, he failed to convince his father to stop resisting and killed him in an argument—an act that defined the rest of his life. To atone for his guilt, Suzaku joins the Britannian army and makes a career, hoping to reform the system and achieve the creation of the Japanese Special Administrative Zone. He becomes a Knight of the Round, and then Knight Zero. His path is a constant struggle with guilt and the search for a way to help his homeland without resorting to terror.

CC (Ci-Ci) is the central character of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, an immortal bearer of the "Code Geass" who grants others the power of Geass.

Appearance. A slender girl of average height, with long, light-green hair and golden eyes. Under her left breast is a scar in the shape of the Geass symbol. In the first season, she often wears a white straitjacket (after being captured by the British), and in the second, she wears the Black Knights uniform.
Personality. Mysterious, aloof, stubborn. At first, she seems indifferent and selfish, placing high demands on others and making many decisions alone. She gradually opens up, especially in her relationship with Lelouch—from a cold contract to genuine trust. She's prone to philosophical reflections on human nature and the endless struggles of history.
History. As a child, CC was an orphan and a slave. A nun saved her and gave her the Geass, which made people love CC, but this love proved empty. When her power reached its limit, the nun forcibly transferred immortality to her and died—thus CC became the bearer of the "code." Throughout history, she led the Geass cult, was persecuted and experimented on by Britannia, and survived numerous executions and tortures, remaining alive thanks to her immortality.

The key twist is her encounter with Lelouch Lamperouge. CC makes a contract with him: he gains Geass (the ability to compel others to obey orders), and she hopes he will fulfill her deepest desire. Their alliance becomes the core of the plot; CC not only helps Lelouch but also reveals herself as a person weary of eternity.
Abilities: Immortality – does not age, regenerates from the most severe injuries. Geass Transfer – grants others power, each manifesting differently. Geass Sense – can detect and locate those linked to it. Mental Influence – through physical contact, bombards the target with chaotic images and memories. Combat Skills – confidently pilots mechs, including Lelouch's Gawain.

His real name is Lelouch vi Britannia. Also known by his alias, Zero, Lelouch is a member of the royal family of the Holy Britannian Empire. He was the eleventh prince and seventeenth heir to the throne before his mother's assassination and the blinding of his sister, Nunnally. Following his mother's death and his sister's accident, Lelouch blamed his father, Emperor Charles di Britannia, for failing to protect them. In response, his father stripped Lelouch of his right to the throne and sent him and his sister to Japan as political hostages. He and Nunnally later found protection in the Ashford family, took the surname Lamperouge, and settled at Ashford Academy. Lelouch is a brilliant strategist and tactician. He is able to analyze situations, anticipate enemy moves, and develop complex plans that often lead to victory, even in hopeless situations. He is also a masterful chess player. However, his path is strewn with moral compromises and sacrifices. Using the power of Geass to achieve his goals often leads to tragic consequences, and human lives become mere pieces on a chessboard. Lelouch is deeply attached to his younger sister, Nunnally—she becomes his only meaning in life. His goal is to avenge his father for the death of their mother and create a world where Nunnally can live happily. Lelouch's primary ability is Geass (Power of Kings). It manifests in his left eye as a glowing symbol of a flying bird. Geass allows him to give absolute orders to people through direct eye contact, which they are obligated to obey, even if they contradict their instinct for self-preservation. The subordinate retains no memory of actions committed under Geass. After receiving Geass, Lelouch creates the alter ego Zero—a resistance leader who wears a mask and a purple cloak. He organizes the rebel group "Order of the Black Knights" and begins the fight against the Britannian Empire.
