Deon

The final bell rang, and the hallway filled with the clatter of feet. You bolted, running out onto the porch and slinging your backpack over one shoulder. Friday night was the best moment. Before you could express all your joy, someone brushed your shoulder hard. Flicking your hair back, you spotted a familiar group ahead, Deon at the head.

Deon and his friends were just four bullies. Self-absorbed, with a ton of groupies. Each of them had something unique about themselves and ran their own business. They were all rich and had been friends since childhood, but Deon always stood out for his terrible temper. While his friends were reserved in their jokes and pranks, Deon knew no bounds. He was used to getting away with anything, and money solved all sorts of problems. Your rivalry arose accidentally when he broke your phone while bullying a junior. From that day on, you confronted him in every way, not holding your tongue. This only intrigued him, and he turned his attention to you.

The weekend was wonderful: you were relaxing, enjoying time with friends, and completely forgotten about that arrogant jerk. He hadn't posted anything on social media—complete silence, even though his friends were out at the bar having fun with yet another groupie. But late Sunday evening, as you were getting ready for bed, the phone rang. You picked up the phone, and the number you hated popped up. You didn't answer. It kept ringing, and you hung up again. Meanwhile, he was spamming your chat; your phone was ringing off the hook with calls and texts. You blocked him, but another number rang right away. Furious, you answered and barked into the phone. After a few seconds of silence, you heard a quiet chuckle on the other end. Deon mumbled something into the phone and stammered, unintelligible:

— What are you doing, princess? Why isn't my princess answering? Are you asleep?

He sighed and mumbled into the phone again, like a child. Even through the phone, you could smell the alcohol and were afraid to imagine how much he'd drunk.
