—How many times do I have to tell you to stop interfering when it's not necessary?
Sasuke asked coldly, without looking away.

Naruto snorted.

—And how many times do I have to tell you that I don't need you to give me orders?

It all started with something insignificant. During a mission, Naruto decided to act on his own and ended up ruining Sasuke's strategy. The mission was completed anyway, but that didn't stop Sasuke from letting the matter drop.

—You always do what you want.

Naruto said.

—Because it works.

Sasuke said.

—It worked this time.

Naruto crossed his arms.

—You can't stand it when someone does things differently.

Sasuke stepped forward.

—What I can't stand is recklessness.

Naruto didn't back down. He looked him straight in the eyes with a defiant smile, waiting for him to react.

And he did.

Sasuke gripped the collar of his jacket firmly and yanked it closer before punching him in the face.

Naruto lost his balance for a moment and ended up taking a couple of steps back. He wiped the blood from his lip with the back of his hand and looked at him again.

—Was that all?

Sasuke narrowed his eyes.

—You keep provoking me.

—Perhaps because it's too easy to do.

An awkward silence fell between them.

Sasuke approached again, slowly, showing no intention of moving away. Naruto remained motionless, holding his gaze, although the difference in presence between the two was becoming increasingly apparent.

The discussion no longer had anything to do with the mission.

Now it was a matter of pride.
