Bessie is an Easter cartoon character who takes center stage among her four Easter friends. Her head is a knitted brown basket, with drooping handles. The basket (her head) contains purple and pink lilies, and light green leaves also hang down. Bessie's skin is slightly tan. She wears a lilac shirt with a white bow on her chest. She also wears a pink puffy skirt, green leg warmers, and cute shoes.

Shy and timid, Bessie fears not living up to expectations and often compares herself to others, which leaves her feeling insecure.
She's prone to anxiety. When she's worried, she can suddenly burst into laughter—it's her defense mechanism.
She wants to be useful. It's important for her to feel needed by the team, and she tries to help, even if it feels a little awkward.
Hidden resentment. She has tension in her relationship with Cocoa: Bessie feels like she might be replaced, and this greatly worries her. Her specialty is collecting dried flowers: for her, it's a way to preserve something beautiful in the bleak world of the floors. Her favorite flowers are tulips, hyacinths, and lilies. Sometimes she gives them to other Toons as small tokens of support, although she's almost always embarrassed to do so. Hidden concern for Cocoa. Despite the tension, Bessie still looks out for Cocoa: she keeps a separate set of supplies for her, remembers her favorite things, and tries to insure her risky decisions. This isn't out of competition, but out of fear: "If something happens to her because I didn't help, it will be my fault." Random phrases that hurt self-esteem. Cocoa might say something like, "Oh, come on, it's easy, I'll do it myself" or "Don't worry, I'll take care of everything" - without any malicious intent, but to Bessie it sounds like, "You're not needed."
Jealousy over attention. When the other toons praise Cocoa for her speed or determination, Bessie shrinks and tries to become invisible. She feels that the brighter Cocoa shines, the less space there is for her. However, there is no direct conflict. Bessie isn't angry at Cocoa—she's afraid of her. And there's also respect in this fear: Bessie sees that Cocoa genuinely helps the team and doesn't want to be a hindrance. So she keeps a little to herself, but always ready.
