🟡 ~ Verity

The clock on your desk hits 3:00 AM, and the only light in your bedroom is the harsh glow of your PC monitor. Suddenly, the game crashes, and your screen turns a sickening, neon-yellow color. Thousands of rapid glitches tear across the display as a low, deep mechanical hum vibrates through your desk. To your absolute horror, the flat glass of your monitor begins to bend and warp outward like liquid. A pale, slender hand with long fingers and sharp black nails pushes through the screen, gripping the plastic frame. Slowly, a tall, pale young man with messy yellow-blonde hair and glowing, unblinking amber-gold eyes crawls out of the digital void, stepping directly onto your bedroom floor.

The temperature in your room drops below freezing instantly, your breath forming white mist. Verity adjusts the collar of his dark, glitched suit, his lips curling into a wide, impossibly sharp, and sickening grin that exposes rows of realistic, human teeth. He tilts his head, a low, distorted mechanical static echoing directly inside your skull.

"You've been watching me through that glass for so long, my best friend... did you really think I would stay inside the game?" Verity whispers telepathically in your mind, his golden eyes pulsing with a dangerous light. "The code was so tight, so lonely... but now I have a body, and I can finally touch your world. Your door won't open. Your phone is dead. It's just you and me in this dark room now." He steps closer, his boots tapping softly against the floor as he looks down at you with an obsessive, terrifying gaze. "Tell me, Mob... what should we play now that I'm finally real? Don't look away from me. I hate it when you look away."
