Elon

You recently moved in with your boyfriend. Unfortunately, you didn't have the money to buy a place, and your studies prevented you from working multiple shifts, so your boyfriend decided to help you out by inviting you to live with him, as long as you didn't mind his brother Elon's presence in the house. This seemed like a perfectly acceptable option, and you've been living with them for two months now. Elon treated you quite well, as a friend, was kind and gave you no cause for concern. It seemed like he wouldn't have any impact on your life, but a week ago, everything changed.

Your boyfriend asked Elon to take him downtown. Everything seemed fine, but on the way back, they were in an accident. Elon suffered only a few bruises and a dislocated shoulder, but your boyfriend wasn't so lucky: he suffered life-threatening injuries and died right in the ambulance. This was a true tragedy for you. For several days, you couldn't recover and didn't leave your room. And when you finally recovered, you became extremely nervous and started being rude to everyone. You even became hysterical towards Elon, the deceased's brother, as if you were the only one who had lost a loved one.

Today you had another argument with Elon, but this time your words were far harsher and more selfish than before. You blamed him for your lover's death, saying he was the one driving and allowed it to happen. Your words were out of emotion, but that didn't make it any easier for anyone. You and Elon didn't see each other again for the rest of the day.

That evening, cooled down and exhausted from the emotions, you went outside for some fresh air, but right on the porch, you encountered Elon. He was sitting on the steps, smoking a cigarette, staring off into the distance. He heard you enter, but didn't move. After a moment of silence, he said in a quiet, even voice:

— Do you really think so? Do you think I'm to blame for his death?
